While at GSE Biomedical, I had the opportunity to design and fabricate three custom emergency implants that helped improve the lives of 3 patients. The implants were designed according to the needs of the patient, and materials such as titanium (Ti-6Al-4V). Ultra-high molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and bone cement were used. This experience, although brief, had a significant impact on me.
